What Is a Limited Term License?
An Ohio Limited Term License is a driver's license issued to people who are legally living in the United States on a temporary basis. This includes many individuals in the U.S. on student visas, work visas, exchange visitor programs, or other temporary immigration statuses.
Unlike a standard Ohio driver's license, a Limited Term License is only valid for the length of the time the applicant is authorized to stay in the United States. The expiration date on the license is based on your immigration documents. If your legal status is extended, you must provide updated documentation to the Ohio BMV before obtaining a new Limited Term License.
Beginning July 1, 2025, Ohio law requires all first-time, Limited Term License applicants, of any age, to complete an approved Ohio driver education course, including 24-hours of classroom instruction and 8-hours behind-the-wheel training, before they can be issued an Ohio Driver's License.

Limited Term (LT) IN-PERSON + BTW 8
This packages was built for the hands-on learner who benefits from a structured classroom environments. This instructor-led classes covers traffic laws and defensive driving techniques, while also teaching critical decision-making skills through interactive discussions and real-life examples. Classes run MON, WED, & FRI evenings for two weeks. After completing the classroom portion, students complete 8-hours of one-on-one, behind-the-wheel training with our experienced instructors. We split these hours in to FOUR 2-hour drives.

This package is a comprehensive program designed to build confident, responsible new drivers from the ground up. The course begins with a 24-hour online course offered by our affiliate. It is an engaging, self-paced program covering essential rules of the road, safety principles, and real-world driving scenarios. After completing the online portion, students will complete 8 hours of hands-on, behind-the-wheel training with our experienced instructors. We split these hours in to FOUR 2-hour drives.

Limited Term (LT) BTW 8
This BTW only packages is for students looking to complete the required 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training. You must already be in possession of, and submit to us, a Certificate of Completion for the 24 hour classroom pre-requisite. This package includes hands-on, behind-the-wheel training with our experienced instructors, where the student can apply what they've learned in a safe, supportive environment, ensuring every student develops the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for a lifetime of safe driving. We split these hours in to FOUR 2-hour drives.
